United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) National Council president Kenneth Palinkas warns that a position House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has taken on amnesty for illegal alien youths is one that could turn into a perpetual amnesty for all illegal alien minors.
In a letter to House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) delivered Wednesday, Palinkas raised the concern with Cantor’s position for the first time in public.
Palinkas wrote to Goodlatte that he is “concerned by Congressman Cantor’s position that citizenship for young illegal immigrants is based on ‘the great founding principles of our country.'”
“If this were true, that would mean that all future DREAMers have a right to amnesty, as every immigration law is bypassed and permanently void,” Palinkas wrote. “I hope, as the top member of the Judiciary panel, you would reject this language without hesitation.”
A spokeswoman for Goodlatte has not immediately responded to a request from Breitbart News for comment about Palinkas’s concern and whether the chairman would in fact repudiate Cantor’s comments.
A spokesman for Cantor has also not immediately responded to a request from Breitbart News in response to Palinkas’s assertion that Cantor’s position would result in perpetual amnesty for illegal alien youths.
As the head of the USCIS National Council, Palinkas represents about 12,000 immigration adjudication officers and staffers.
