YAF Poll: 68% of Millennials Less Favorable Toward President Obama After 'Lie of The Year'

In a new nationwide poll conducted by the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) organization, 68% of millennials are less favorable toward President Obama after he lied to the American people, telling them that if they liked their healthcare plan, they could keep it. Obama’s statement has now become known as the “lie of the year.”

On the day of the nation’s 93rd State of the Union address, over six million young people between the ages of 16 and 24 are neither working nor in school, inflicted with a 16.3% youth unemployment rate. According to a press release by YAF, “they expect that Obama will fail to directly address our nation’s young people; as he will fail to apologize for misleading our nation’s youth and offer no plan, just more empty rhetoric.” The poll findings revealed that only 6% of young people between the ages of 18 and 24 are more favorable to the President since he unleashed his now famous falsehood.

Just this week, YAF released other nationwide poll findings which showed that only 18% of young people between the ages of 18 to 24 are likely to enroll in Obamacare, compared to 46% who are not likely to enroll. The organization believes that the White House continues to implore millennials to talk to one another about enrolling, but young people are not willing to sign up or recommend signing up to one another. The press release further stated that “Obamacare is under water right now and young people are the ones who are necessary to keep it afloat, but what happens when they cause it to sink?”

Earlier this month, YAF concluded in another press release that young people are facing extreme financial hardship because of high student loan debt as well as their share of the $17 trillion national debt at a record high $52,948 per person.
