DOJ Snubs Darrell Issa on Anti-Lender 'Operation Choke Point' Documents

The Department of Justice missed a deadline Wednesday for providing documents relating to “Operation Choke Point” to House oversight committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) but told Breitbart news the agency will respond to Issa in the “near future.”

Issa requested the documents in a January 8 letter to Attorney General Eric Holder.

“Operation Choke Point” is an under-the-radar multi-agency Obama administration program first reported by Breitbart News that appears to be designed to destroy three sectors of the private lending industry: third party payment processors, (‘TPPPs’), payday lenders, and online lenders.

A spokesman for the Department of Justice told Breitbart News in an email late Thursday that the department “will respond to the [House Oversight and Government Reform] Committee in the near future.”

A spokeswoman for Issa declined to comment.
