Fred Dryer, actor and all-pro defensive end, told Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that the Republicans are now a center-left party.
On Sunday, Dryer joined host Bannon on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 and claimed that anyone who shows himself as a Republican candidate for president of the United States is washed and rinsed by the party apparatchik and scoured of any independent thinking. He is taught to “preach the party line and the party line is left of center.”
Dryer continued to excoriate the Republicans, asserting that the “cowardice” of the party today is matched only by its “myopic” opinion of itself. He said, “After all things are said and done, you get a party that is committed to nothing.” The former NFL legend claims that the Republican party has abandoned the Constitution. “The only way you can have a President like we have today is to make sure your kids don’t learn anything about the Constitution,” he opined.
Bannon was impressed with Dryer’s take on Republicans and his understanding of America as a Constitutional Republic. Both Dryer and Bannon are concerned that America’s Constitution is still fragile and can be trampled on if we don’t join together and elect responsible candidates who take the Constitution to heart. Bannon contends that the Republican party is “in a slow walk to stateism.” Statists have become synonymous with those who advocate for big and controlling government.
Dryer explained that the Republicans are in trouble because they still don’t have any representatives who can articulate the truths about the needs of America. Moreover, Republicans are doing “nothing..nothing…not going on campuses and educating the young about what is happening to their country.”
