Comedian Evan Sayet: Liberals Believe 'We Are Evil Because We Have Succeeded'

The late Andrew Breitbart called Evan Sayet’s original Heritage Foundation talk on the Unified Field Theory of Liberalism “one of the five most important conservative speeches ever given.” 

That is hearty praise for someone most people consider a comedian and a comedy writer. On Sunday, we learned that Sayet is above and beyond that label; he is an astute conservative commentator and a culture warrior for the “right.”

Sayet joined Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125. Bannon introduced Sayet as one of the most “courageous conservatives” who was with Andrew at the very beginning of Breitbart.com and the Breitbart movement. Sayet discussed his new book KinderGarden of Eden: How the Modern Liberal Thinks.

Sayet’s credentials include having been a comedy writer for Bill Maher, something “I apologize for,” he quipped to Bannon. 

His Unified Field Theory of Liberalism, Sayet explained, demonstrates that “liberal ideology leads [liberals] to invariably and inevitably side with evil over good, wrong over right, the lesser over the better, the ugly over the beautiful, the profane over the profound, and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success.”

He also related that he grew up in New York City as a liberal Jew. “My liberalism wasn’t intellectual,” he stated. “There is no such thing as a thoughtful liberal.” He added that liberals are attracted to intellectualism, but “their beliefs have been stunted at the age of five. And this is not an exaggeration.”

Evan compares liberals to those who subscribed to the bestselling book All I Really Need to Know I learned in Kindergarten. Just as liberals believe that “no child is more special than another,” they also believe “that no culture is more special than another.” The first law to his theory is that “indiscriminateness is a moral imperative.” Consequently, Evan posits, “Our children are taught from kindergarten to graduate school that nothing is materially better than anything else, and so no nation can be better than another. After all, how can you know it isn’t just your own prejudices saying what is better?” 

According to Evan’s theory, liberals have difficulty reconciling American exceptionalism. “Because we’ve become the most successful nation in human history, then a modern liberal has no choice but to believe that the USA is the greatest injustice in human history. We are evil because we have succeeded.” In the liberal’s mind, America must have cheated and must be evil to be more successful; it isn’t that we have a better system “because no nation is better than another.”
