Armed Suspects Make Home Invasion Victim Tie Them Up

In what one police officer referred to as “felony stupid,” four suspects, armed with a shotgun and three handguns, were arrested in a home invasion in Lincoln Heights outside of Downtown Los Angeles. 

At 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, the owner of the house viewed the suspects on his home surveillance system. He called 911 and a SWAT unit arrived immediately, while the suspects were still in the house. Based on conflicting reports it is unclear who’s idea it was, but two of the alleged home invaders agreed that the owner would tie them up and tell the police that they, too, were victims. The owner obliged and tied them both up.

The homeowner walked out of the house and told the SWAT team that he just tied up the two suspects, based upon their request. Although the police did not immediately enter the house, the suspects “got tired of waiting” and emerged, when they were arrested instantly. “They came out, still tied up, thinking that we were going to believe they were victims also,” said officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department. “That’s what you call felony stupid.”
