A video of two men brutally beating an apparent homeless man is reported on a Venice Ca. neighborhood blog.  A third man looking on, quickly departed the scene. According to the blog the incident took place on Friday in the early morning hours. The recording of the violent incident appears to be taken by a person viewing the crime from an apartment above the street, where the perpetrators flogged the defenseless victim. One of the alleged perpetrators, after thrashing the downed-man, with what appears to be a plastic tubing, fled the scene soon after.

Unfortunately, the second alleged perpetrator continued to smash the victim with a canvas and metal framed chair, whacking him  22 times with the metal part of the chair. Many of the blows landed directly on the victims head and face.  The alleged perpetrator beat the man continuously, pausing only to pull up his own pants that kept sagging below his waist, apparently interfering with his ability to deliver the next wallop.

As the alleged perpetrator begins to leave the scene, with the victim sprawled on the street, the man shooting the video appears to duck beneath his window so that he cannot be seen. There is no indication of what motivated the onslaught, if any one was being held by the police  or the condition of the victim.  A Los Angeles Fire Truck does appear on the scene at the end of the video.
