On November 29th Brooklyn “community leaders and local residents” held a rally calling for an end to the “Knockout Game.”

According to CBS New York, Brown Memorial Baptist Church’s Leticia Smith said: “We are stressed out, but we refuse to be knocked out in our community. We are asking our mothers to make a recommitment to pay more attention to our children.”

Over the last weeks alone in Brooklyn, “a 78-year-old grandmother and a 12-year-old boy” were targeted in the “Knockout game.” And as Breitbart News reported, a 72-year-old Brooklyn woman was targeted on November 25th.

Community Activist Tony Herbert–part of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network–said social media companies need to refuse to carry the videos of “Knockout Game” attacks when they are uploaded: “[We] denounce…the opportunity of folks to use social media like World Star Hip Hop and YouTube to proliferate this kind of stupidity.”
