Even the City by the Bay, where the residents don’t cling to guns and religion, is getting tired of coughing up money for Barack Obama. Ticket prices for next Monday’s fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, guest-starring Obama, are being halved. $1,000 seats are now going for $500, according to an e-mail from Ella Arnold of Buell Private Political Management in San Francisco that was intended for donors. Not only that, but Arnold also excitedly reported this: “We are thrilled to announce that if you have already purchased a $1,000 ticket … your seat will now be upgraded to VIP, which includes rope line access!”
The private reception with Obama, where tickets were $15,000? Now they’re dropping as low as $10,000.
Michael Czin, press secretary for the Democratic National Committee, said “due to demand we added additional space and expect the event to sell out.”
Obama has made nine fundraising trips to the Bay Area in the past 2 1/2 years. Even all the water in the political Bay has to dry up sometime.
