A new ad produced by the left’s favorite bogeyman, Americans for Prosperity, which is heavily funded by the Koch brothers, will target Democrats in battleground states over their support for Obamacare. The group will spend $3.5 million dropping ads on politicians who backed President Obama’s disastrous health insurance overhaul. The targets will include Sens. Mark Begich (D-AK), Kay Hagan (D-NC), and Mary Landrieu (D-LA). All are considered vulnerable in their Senate races in 2014.
House members targeted by AFP include Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), Joe Garcia (D-FL), and Patrick Murphy (D-FL). The ads are designed to reach out to the female population, which is more divided on Obamacare than the male population. In one ad, a female narrator states, “Health care isn’t about politics. It’s not about a website that doesn’t work. It’s not about poll numbers or approval ratings. It’s about people. And millions of people have lost their health insurance.”
Obamacare is considered a losing issue for Democrats, even in blue states; a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll found that even Democrats in blue states faced public scrutiny over their support for Obamacare.
