Newly-obtained Obamacare “War Room” documents from just a week ago reveal internal concern that even after the busted healthcare.gov website is fixed, customers will discover fewer choices and experience sticker shock.
The notes obtained by CNN said:
Mike described a general concern of PM (plan management team): getting to the point where the website is functioning properly and individuals begin to select plans; the media attention will follow individuals to plan selection and their ultimate choices; and, in some cases, there will be fewer options than would be desired to promote consumer choice and an ideal shopping experience. Additionally, in some cases there will be relatively high cost plans.
Health and Human Services (HHS) spokesperson Joanne Peters tried to distance the Obama Administration from the notes in an email to CNN’s Jake Tapper: “These are notes taken by contractors, they are not official agency positions.”
