Gohmert Blasts Illegal Immigration Advocates Working as Obamacare 'Navigators'

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he finds it unseemly that President Barack Obama’s administration is using Obamacare as a tool for left-wing groups to register voters while Americans’ are being hurt by his signature law.

“People are losing the health insurance they liked, losing the doctors they liked, losing jobs, losing full-time work for part-time, while the Democratic operatives are using the disastrous ObamaCare roll out to prepare for the next elections while being paid with healthcare dollars,” Gohmert said in a statement provided to Breitbart News.

Gohmert specifically questioned why groups that support illegal immigrants could register their supporters to vote in the insurance signup process.

“You may not be able to sign up for insurance on the website, but by golly – left-wing groups will sure get your voter information through them,” Gohmert said. “Wonder why so many of the groups ‘helping’ people ‘navigate’ the system and signing them up to vote are groups whose stated purpose is to help illegal immigrants? That is really strange since they are not entitled to ObamaCare and are not allowed to vote legally. Wonder what that’s about?”

As Breitbart News reported on Wednesday, there is a process–via HealthCare.Gov and the Obamacare “Navigators”–by which left-wing groups are using Obamacare as a voter registration tool much like how ACORN used housing programs to register voters.

In fact, according to PJ Media’s David Steinberg, the Obamacare Navigators–organizations that have received contracts from the federal government to help with the implementation of Obamacare by helping people sign up for insurance–include organizations that are open borders advocates. “These groups exist in part or in whole to secure greater federal benefits for illegal immigrants,” Steinberg claimed. “As such, all are obvious risks to fraudulently register illegals for subsidized insurance.”

In addition to helping people sign up for Obamacare, such organizations could also be involved with registering people to vote via Obamacare.
