The National SuperPAC Fight for Tomorrow is releasing a new ad, “ObamaCare Fiasco,” putting the program’s failed roll-out center stage in the close race for Virginia Governor. Democrat Terry McAuliffe, who holds a small lead in the polls, was a prominent backer of the ObamaCare law and has based his campaign on expanding ObamaCare’s Medicaid program in the Commonwealth. The ad will run across Virginia during Game 3 of the World Series on Monday.

McAuliffe’s opponent, Republican Ken Cuccinelli was a prominent critic of ObamaCare. He was the first state Attorney General to file suit to overturn the health care law. With even Democrats and liberals acknowledging that implementation of ObamaCare has been a disaster, contrasting the candidate’s views on the program in the closing days of the campaign is likely to lift Cuccinelli.

The election is a little over a week away. While McAuliffe has held a small lead throughout the campaign, his support is mired in the 40s. Almost 10% of voters say they are undecided and a Libertarian candidate is drawing a similar level of support in most polls. This makes the race very fluid and could by a late-breaking issue.

ObamaCare could easily be such an issue. VA voters may look at this election as a referendum on the health care law.
