On Wednesday, Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer slammed President Barack Obama and lawmakers in Washington for using “milker bills” to extort campaign contributions, which are often used to subsidize their lavish lifestyles.

Appearing on CNBC’s Kudlow Report, Schweizer said so-called “milker bills” in Congress had “nothing to do with the dairy industry” and were all about “milking donations and lobbying gigs for family and friends.”

As Breitbart News has reported, in Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets, Schweizer details how lawmakers in Washington’s permanent political class extract campaign contributions from donors to subsidize their lavish lifestyles. Some of Schweizer’s research about these “slush funds” from congressional “leadership PACs” was revealed in a 60 Minutes exposé on Sunday.

Schweizer emphasized that if the political economics is looked at, “there is not a lot of money to be made by fixing problems.”

“You gotta create fear in the mind of a powerful industry or constituency group,” Schweizer said.

He obliterated Obama’s White House for using a “double milker bill” in which the White House used the Stop Online Privacy Act to pit two powerful industries–Hollywood and Silicon Valley–against each other.

Schweizer said campaign fundraising went up fivefold after Silicon Valley thought the Stop Online Privacy Act would pass.

“Boy, did they deliver,” Schweizer said of Silicon Valley.

Schweizer said Hollywood was eventually furious when the Obama administration announced it would not support the bill only after a lot of Hollywood donors had maxed out.

“It’s legal extortion,” Schweizer said. “You don’t have to say anything; it’s apparent to people what’s going to happen.”
