A speech last night at the University of Buffalo by Hillary Clinton was disrupted by a lone male heckler who chanted: “Benghazi, Benghazi — you let them die!”
The former Secretary of State powered through her speech as the man continued to chant for almost a minute. Clinton then appeared to acknowledge the disruption, saying, “We have to be willing to come together as citizens to focus on the kind of future we want–which doesn’t include yelling. It includes sitting down and talking to one another.”
The crowd of 6,500 erupted in a sustained standing ovation as a show of support. The man was reportedly escorted immediately out of the packed auditorium.
The Benghazi attack continues to be a source of controversary given the limited facts that have come out through official soureces. The former Secretary of State was an early and vocal proponent of the “anti-Muslim video” as being the cause of the bloody attack. That now discredited theory has opened a call for additional hearings on Capitol Hill to get to the truth.
Four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, were killed by radical Islamists in the attack.
