The NRCC, the campaign arm of the House Republicans, is launching radio ads on Thursday against 11 vulnerable Democrats on the failure of the ObamaCare rollout. The ad buy, in districts across the country, marks the first time this cycle that Republicans are specifically focusing on ObamaCare’s glitches. The issue is likely to be a central one in midterm elections in 2014.

“The Democrats’ votes to preserve and protect ObamaCare at any cost – even if it means keeping the special subsidies for members of Congress – are going to come back to haunt them,” NRCC Spokesman Andrew Clark told Breitbart News. “Considering that the taxpayer-funded mothership website for ObamaCare has become a glitch-ridden failure, and that many of these Democrats are sitting in Republican-leaning districts that are frustrated with this Administration’s agenda, their defense of ObamaCare is going to be an issue for them.”

The ad buys target: Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-01), Joe Garcia (FL-26), Tim Walz (MN-01), Collin Peterson (MN-07), Rick Nolan (MN-08) Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), Ann McLane Kuster (NH-02), Tim Bishop (NY-01), Bill Owens (NY-21), Pete Gallego (TX-23), and Nick Rahall (WV-03).

Democrats have projected confidence that the recent government shutdown would help them take back control of the House. That was always a long-shot, and the current failure of the ObamaCare exchanges puts many House Democrats in jeopardy next year.

The Democrats may be lucky to simply maintain their current minority status after 2014.
