On Tuesday’s Hannity on Fox News, Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large and Government Accountability Institute (GAI) president Peter Schweizer said Attorney General Eric Holder is like the “squeegee guy holding the brick” in describing how President Barack Obama’s Justice Department has extorted campaign contributions from individuals and companies.
“You gotta pay them or the brick is coming through the window,” Schweizer said of the squeegee man that comes up to one’s car with a brick in one hand a cloth in the other. “We literally have that kind of situation in Washington, D.C. involving the president and members of Congress from both parties.”
As Breitbart News reported, in Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets, Schweizer details how lawmakers in Washington’s permanent political class extract campaign contributions from donors to subsidize their lavish lifestyles. Some of Schweizer’s research about these “slush funds” from congressional “leadership PACs” was revealed in a 60 Minutes exposé on Sunday.
Schweizer said these extortion schemes begin with Obama and the facts, supported by hundreds of footnotes, “are undeniable.”
In his book, Schweizer said there is documentation that the Obama campaign and political committees associated with Obama solicited donations from companies after the Justice Department filed civil and criminal charges against them.
Schweizer said this is a “huge problem” and there is “statistical evidence” in the book that proves the chances of going to jail are lessened if political contributions are made.
“You cut your chances of going to jail in half if you make a contribution,” Schweizer told host Sean Hannity.
Schweizer said the top five positions in the Department of Justice, beginning with Holder, were all campaign bundlers for the Obama campaign, and this unlike what Washington has seen before.
“So, you had fundraisers who were raising money and put into power who are now making decisions about who they’re going to prosecute, who they’re not not going to prosecute,” Schweizer said. “You see this melding of DOJ and the campaign apparatus of the Obama campaign.”
Extortion, which is putting Washington on “red alert,” was released on Tuesday. It has already rocketed up to #75 on Amazon’s list of top-selling books and is the top-selling book in the “Politics and Social Sciences” section.
