Report: 21 House Republicans Willing to Join Democrats to End Gov't Shutdown

There are reportedly 21 Republicans willing to join with 200 Democrats to vote for a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government and end the government shutdown.

The Huffington Post complied a list of the 21 Republicans, and 18 of those 21 Republicans willing to end the government shutdown without getting any concessions on Obamacare are from the mid-Atlantic states, Florida or California.

There are five Republicans from Pennsylvania, four from Virginia, three from New York, three from New Jersey, two from Florida, and one from California on the list. According to Nate Cohn at the New Republic, a majority of these Republicans are in districts that are considered safe.

Another Republican who would vote for a so-called “clean continuing resolution” should it make it to the floor of the House is Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID), who is facing a primary challenge from his right and is regarded as a close ally of House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).
