On Wednesday on The Rush Limbaugh Show, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) suggested that Obamacare and the possibility of military action in Syria were tied together “by an arrogance of this administration.” Cruz stated, “Fundamentally, actually, these two issues, you look at Syria, you look at Obamacare. They’re tied together by an arrogance of this administration, that they don’t believe they’re accountable to the American people, and they are going to jam their agenda down the throats of the American people.”
Cruz said that the only way to stop Obamacare and precipitous action in Syria would be to “rise up and hold every elected official accountable, Democrat and Republican, every one of us, including me.”
Cruz suggested that the chief opponents of defunding Obamacare were Republicans rather than Democrats. “That’s a sad state of affairs,” he said. “I hope it changes. I hope the Republicans stop trying to prevent us from defunding Obamcacare and, instead, we come together – and the only way they will is if millions of Americans go to DontFundIt.com, speak up and demand that our elected officials listen to the people.”
On Syria, Cruz said Obama was “out of control,” pointing out that in Britain and Israel, the legislatures were debating action, while in the United States, President Obama considered acting unilaterally.
