Former Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady has signed on with the American Civil Liberties Union to lobby House Republicans to pass a same-sex marriage bill in the land of Lincoln.

Brady resigned from his post in disgrace after pressure from Illinois conservatives reached a boiling point in May, hounded by a track record of losing elections.

In the spring of 2013, Brady, who claims to support “equality,” notoriously ignored five black Republican candidates on the Special Election ballot to replace Jesse Jackson, Jr. for the Illinois 2nd Congressional District seat. During that election, not one of the five black GOP candidates were ever listed as candidates on the IL GOP’s website.

Paul McKinley, who won that 2nd District Primary, told Breitbart that Brady’s new role is “no surprise.”

“It doesn’t surprise me that he joined a liberal-racist organization against black folks. He didn’t support black Republicans in the 2nd District election, because he was always pushing for a perverted liberal agenda with Senator Mark Kirk that, as conservatives, we do not support,” said McKinley.

He added, “The ACLU has never done anything in its history for black folks other than stand on our necks to promote a liberal agenda, so it’s no surprise to me.”

WBEZ reports:

The ACLU confirmed Tuesday that it has hired Next Generation Public Affairs, the lobbying and public relations firm Brady co-founded after he left his party job in May.

“I think the very core of the conservative movement, which I consider myself a part of, is application of equality under the law for all,” Brady said Tuesday in an interview with WBEZ.

Brady will focus on lobbying House Republicans in hopes of getting the same-sex marriage bill passed during this fall’s veto session, he said. He’ll also tap the political donors he cultivated during his four years as party chairman to raise money for groups that support gay marriage, and for Republican lawmakers who may be hesitant to cast a yes vote, fearing a challenge in next year’s primary.

Breitbart contacted the RNC and Brady’s former boss, Chairman Reince Priebus, who did not immediately respond with a comment.

@Reince Do you have a comment on Pat Brady’s new roll for ACLU, lobbying IL House GOPs to support same-sex marriage? http://t.co/worY33WiGr
