Democrat Candidate Tweets 'DC Gay Scene' Link as Thanks to Soldiers

Michael Wager, a top Democrat recuit in Ohio’s 14th District, tweeted out a “thanks” to all American soldiers for their service and dedication to the country. For some reason, he included a link to a news article, “28 Truths About the DC Gay Scene.”

Keep in mind, this isn’t some bit.ly error; the name of the publication is in the actual tweet.

While the military has repealed its “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and now allows openly gay men and women to serve in the armed forces, it isn’t clear that this has led to such a flood of gay recruits that an article on the Capital’s gay scene is particularly helpful.

Wager isn’t some fringe Democrat candidate. An attorney and former Chairman of the Cleveland-Cuyahoga Port Authority, he was Finance co-chair for Sen. Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign last year. Ohio Reps. Marcy Kaptor and Tim Ryan have pledged to help Wager raise money for his campaign against freshman Rep. David Joyce.

I’d say his campaign is off to an unorthodox start.
