A teenager in Pontiac, Michigan has been sentenced to life in prison for killing two women over a fake $10 bill. Semaj Moran, 17, was sentenced alongside 23-year-old Arnold Howard; Howard received a 39-to-90 year sentence for second-degree murder. The two women, Loretta Fournier, 52, and Luann Robinson, 58, were murdered in their apartment after Moran and Howard sent to see Fournier to smoke pot with her, and give her back the bad $10 bill she’d handed them. Moran told police Fournier went to get the cash, and Howard then told him to shoot the woman when Howard flushed the toilet. Moran shot her three times, once in the back and once in the head. Howard then went to Robinson’s apartment, broke in, stole her purse, and pushed her down the stairs; Moran then shot her in the head. Moran was 15 at the time of the murder.

Moran said to the families of the victims, “I hope you will one day be able to forgive me. Everyone makes mistakes, and I know I made one. If I could take all of it back, I would. There ain’t too much I can do now. It’s done, and I just really want ya’ll to forgive me, everyone.”

Moran’s lawyer says Moran will get out on parole because juveniles cannot receive life in prison, and claimed that Moran had an absentee father, a mother in prison, and a situation in which, at age 2, he had shot his younger brother to death after he was left in a room with a loaded gun.
