Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY) is crushing challenger Liz Cheney, 54 percent to 26 percent, in a statewide poll that was released on July 23.
According to the Public Policy Polling (PPP) poll, only 31 percent of respondents considered the daughter of Dick Cheney to be a Wyomingite and 50 percent of those surveyed felt Cheney should run for Senate in Virginia. Cheney recently moved her family from a prominent Washington, D.C. suburb (McLean, Virginia) to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to mount a primary challenge to Enzi in 2014.
PPP, a left-leaning firm, “surveyed 1,203 registered voters between July 19-21,” and the margin of error was +/- 2.8 percentage points for statewide responses and +/- 3.5 percentage points for primary responses.
