NRA: Holder Using Trayvon Martin to Push for More Gun Control

On Thursday July 17, NRA Executive Director Chris Cox accused Attorney General Eric Holder of using Trayvon Martin’s death for the purposes of pushing more gun control, The Hill reports. 

Cox said Holder treats self-defense as a “concept” that can be accepted or rejected rather than seeing it as “a fundamental human right.” In doing this he said Holder sends a message “that legitimate self-defense is to blame” — something Cox referred to as “unconscionable.” 

Cox said the gun control push proves “once again that this administration will exploit tragedies to push their political agendas.”
