As Texas prepares to vote on a bill that would ban abortions in that state past 20 weeks of pregnancy, a new undercover investigative video reveals that abortion doctors at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) in Albuquerque, New Mexico engage in the practice of leaving women alone in hotel rooms to deliver their dead babies.
In its sixth video in the undercover series entitled, Inhuman: Undercover in America’s Abortion Industry, pro-life organization Live Action discovered that an abortion counselor at SWO advised the 27-week pregnant undercover investigator:
If we can’t catch it [delivery of the dead baby – the final stage of the abortion procedure] early enough, which has happened – then you’ll want to unlock the door to the hotel room, get your cell phone, and just sit on the toilet. You don’t have to look at anything – you can stay on the phone with us until the doctor and nurse get there[.]
Abortionist Dr. Carmen Landau repeated this advice, telling the Live Action investigator to “sit on the toilet” and “unlock the hotel room.” “Just sit there,” Landau says, “and you would not move until we come and get you.”
Texas state senator Wendy Davis (D) engaged in a filibuster against SB5, a proposed ban on late-term abortions in her state that included proposals that would force abortion clinics to adopt the standards of care of other ambulatory surgery clinics. Claiming to be supporters of women’s health, Davis and pro-abortion supporters complained that the higher health standards would force many abortion clinics to close.
In a statement to Breitbart News, Live Action president Lila Rose said:
The American people are starting to see what Texas State Senator Wendy Davis really “stood for” last Tuesday – and it’s a gruesome picture. Sen. Davis was fighting for late-term abortion–the grisly dismemberment and poisoning of children who fully feel the torture and many, who are old enough to survive outside the womb. A child with a heartbeat, facial features, eyelashes, fingernails. There’s a reason why Americans in general oppose late-term abortion, and why Texans in particular support SB5.
Abortion corporations like Planned Parenthood reject SB5’s commonsense and life-saving safety standards because they cost – and the industry is flatly unwilling to spend money in the interest of women’s and children’s safety. Anything that jeopardizes Big Abortion’s cash flow will garner a predictably shrill reaction from the people who have no qualms about tearing a unique, voiceless human being apart.
Following the conviction of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, Texas became an abortion battleground in June, with Gov. Rick Perry (R) calling a special legislative session to address the discovery of abortionist Douglas Karpen‘s Houston “House of Horrors.” Former employees alleged that Karpen twisted the necks off babies who were born alive during late-term abortion procedures.
Abortionist Carmen Landau was a subject of a previous Live Action video in which Landau likened the lethal injection that kills the unborn child to “a flu shot, really.”
According to a 2007 report published in Reuters, SWO abortionist Carmen Landau, who was 30 at the time, was one of eight Americans who graduated from a Cuban medical school after six years of study. They were completely funded by the government of Fidel Castro. The graduation ceremony took place in the Karl Marx Theater in Havana.
“Cuba offered us full scholarships to study medicine here,” said Landau. “In exchange, we commit ourselves to go back to our communities to provide health care to under-served people.”
Landau and the other U.S. students praised Cuba’s universal, free healthcare system, and free education.
In addition, Landau applauded the film produced by Michael Moore, entitled SICKO, referring to it as “an inspiration.” Landau said that she planned to return to the United States to promote the creation of a universal healthcare system.
“It is a wonderful idea that makes total sense in every country, especially in one with so many resources,” Landau said. “If they can do it in Cuba, we can do it in the United States.”
