Susan Rice 'Likely' to Become National Security Advisor

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, who infamously blamed the Benghazi attacks on a YouTube video on Sept. 16, is poised to succeed Tom Donilon as National Security Advisor. 

This position would put her high on the foreign-policy hierarchy and could “arguably” prove “more influential than [the] Secretary of State” position from which she had to withdraw her name months ago.

The Cable has an anonymous source that is telling them this is “definitely” happening. And Dennis Ross, former special assistant to Obama, went on the record saying Rice is “a very likely candidate to replace [Donilon]” whenever he choose to leave.

In December Obama said of Rice: “I have every confidence that Susan Rice has limitless capability to serve our country now and in the years to come, and know that I will continue to rely on her as an advisor and a friend.”

Donilon has no plans to leave his post at the moment, but those close to him say he will leave before Obama’s second term is over.
