In a closed-door party at the White House immediately following President Obama’s inauguration, stars studded the hallways of power, from former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to actress Kerry Washington, from producer Harvey Weinstein to actor Jamie Foxx, from former NBA player Alonzo Mourning to singer James Taylor. Even Hillary’s aide-de-camp, Huma Abedin, was invited.
Her husband, Anthony Weiner, was not. Weiner simply did not make the cut.
Weiner, who is now considering a mayoral bid in New York City, has never earned his way back into the good graces of Democratic power brokers after his infamous run-in with Twitter. Apparently, that distaste extends even to the Obama administration.
