Organizing for Action Woos McCain on Gun Control

In its efforts to promote President Obama’s gun control agenda, Organizing for Action leaders are now working to woo weak-kneed Republican senators by greeting them in public places with expressions of astroturfed support. On Friday, the Barack Obama twitter account, run by OFA, sent a tweet with pictures of a group – no doubt populated entirely by Barack Obama 2008 voters – showing up to thank Senator John McCain for his support of gun control:

It’s a clever tactic, and one specifically designed to target Republican senators most likely to peel off from conservatism in favor of a few media plaudits.
