George Soros Spent $7 Million Funding Pro-Gun Control Groups

From 2000 to 2011, George Soros gave nearly $7 million to groups pushing for expanded gun control laws in the United States.

The money was spread among various organizations, including $4,093,946 for the American Bar Association (ABA), $50,000 for the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, $550,000 to the Children’s Defense Fund, and $2,028,020 for the League of Women Voters, among others.

While the Brady Center’s work for gun control is well known, the work of the some of the other groups is not.

But the ABA “believes that lawyers share a special responsibility to help create a just and secure society in which firearms are well-regulated,” the Children’s Defense Fund recently conducted a “Protect Children, Not Guns,” campaign, and the League of Women Voters recently undertook a campaign urging members to “tell [their] Senators to pass sensible gun laws.”

For Soros’ $7 million investment, he’s seen a return of record gun and ammunition sales.
