According to Chris Barry, a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and friend of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, said that Tsarnaev “didn’t seem like a dangerous person at all … He was a pothead, a normal pothead. I couldn’t even imagine him being mad at someone, let alone hurting someone.”
Barry told Politico that they became friends when they were in high school, where they both wrestled. Barry admitted he hadn’t seen Tsarnaev for several months, but said the two were friendly. He added that they never talked politics. “I know on his Facebook, it says he’s Islamic, but I didn’t really look into it …. He never brought it up. It seemed like he could care less.”
Zachary Levine-Caleb, who knew Tsarnaev in high school, said “He was just a kid who wasn’t spectacular at wrestling.”
