Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said during his keynote address at CPAC on Saturday that he was proud to be called a “wacko bird,” in reference to Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) dismissive comment about Cruz and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) last week.
Cruz said when he and Paul first heard the “wacko birds” comment, they thought it was “a new kind of drone.”
“If standing for liberty and standing for the Constitution makes you a wacko bird, then count me a proud wacko bird,” Cruz said.
