President Obama has made noises about pursuing carbon taxes in order to curb global warming. Now, look for that noise to increase. A new study contends that sea levels between 1993 and 2011 rose 60% faster than predicted previously by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The report suggests that over the next century, sea levels could rise all the way up to a meter. It was a more sophisticated study than the UN study that preceded it. The study states that New York City and Tokyo would be under special duress thanks to their proximity to sea level.
Despite this, there is little or no evidence to suggest that even the most brutal anti-emissions measures would help stop seal level increases. Even if the United States adopted the brutal Kyoto Protocol, along with all over major countries, the temperature would be curbed by less than 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit. But don’t ask the Democrats to suggest solutions that would actually work. They’re too busy looking to push redistributionism under the guise of environmentalism.
