Sherrod Brown Demonizes Josh Mandel, but Who's the Wolf?

Sherrod Brown has been whining for some time about the wealthy folks on the Right who fund Super-PACs and how poor widdle Sherrod and the Democrats rely on wealthy people who only donate out of the goodness of their hearts.  Let’s hear the Gospel according to Sherrod:

If George Soros or some wealthy person on the left drops $20 million into a race or a series of races, and his side wins — our side wins — they don’t get any material benefit from it. But if the Koch brothers or Sheldon Adelson or Harold Simmons in Texas put $10 or $20 million each in and win, they get tax cuts, weaker environmental laws and anti-labor legislation. They have more billionaires with more income, more money anyway, but they also have an economic incentive. For their side, it’s a good investment to make more money. For our side, it’s a good investment in good government and progressive values. And the financial incentive trumps so often.

So Brown believes a) George Soros only gives money away for “good” causes with no thought of ever making a profit, and b) the Koch brothers care only about their wealth and don’t give a damn about making sure America stays free from socialism?

Is he serious? Soros made $1 billion betting against the British pound in 1992; in one day sterling lost 20 percent of its value and dropped out of the European exchange-rate mechanism. And Soros has expressed delight at the prospect of riots in American streets:

As anger rises, riots on the streets of American cities are inevitable. ‘Yes, yes, yes,’ he says, almost gleefully.

Speaking of socialism, just which Super-PAC weighed in to help Brown? The AFL-CIO Worker’s Voice? Oh. So Brown thinks the wealthy Left is noble while the wealthy right is evil? Sure.

And while we’re on the subject of evil, let’s take a look at how someone powerful on the Left uses anti-Semitism to help Brown. Anti-Semite David Brock of Media Matters, who with his erstwhile partner M.J. Rosenberg was used to eviscerating Israel, helped found the Super-Pac American Bridge 21st century, which attacked Brown’s opponent, Josh Mandel, an Iraq war veteran who has been a strong supporter of Israel and has been publicly thanked by the Israeli government, for being a bad Jew and soft on the Holocaust because he had accepted a $1000 donation from a man who had dressed like a Nazi in a world War II reenactment.

American Bridge suggested Mandel donate the money to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a radical leftist group which has labeled the Family Research Council a “hate group” because it disagrees with liberal orthodoxy, or to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, an organization dedicated to Holocaust education, which has condemned Brock in no uncertain terms.

And Brock hasn’t stopped there; in a completely cynical manner he and American Bridge are suing Mandel asking for records and resumes of those hired by Mandel since he took office in January 2011. Only one problem: Mandel already turned over the information in June. Brock is simply suing to distract Ohioans from Brown’s atrocious Obama-worshipping socialism.

Brown, with his “Big Lie” calumny, and his buddy Brock, with his chronic anti-Semitism, are a disgrace to the decent people of Ohio. And Brown’s depiction of the holiness of wealthy Leftist benefactors and greedy benefactors from the Right should reveal him as a radical ideologue who will powerfully aid Barack Obama’s path toward American socialism.
