In their inimitably inarticulate style, the Obama campaign seems to have finally hit on their anti-Paul Ryan strategy: they’ll call him names. And not interesting names – they’ll just label him “the worst.”

Seriously.

On their Tumblr page, the Obama campaign posted a graphic of Ryan with a speech bubble that read: “MARRIAGE EQUALITY: Unconstitutional. WOMEN’S RIGHTS: Don’t need these. THE MIDDLE CLASS: Not Rich? Then too bad.” This, of course, is crap so deep you’d need a Mike Mulligan steamshovel to move it. Ryan has never contended that same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. He’s stated that same-sex marriage isn’t mandated by the Constitution. Idiots. As for women’s rights, apparently the left is only concerned about a woman’s right to kill her unborn child or receive taxpayer-provided condoms. They’re not nearly as concerned about the right of women to work at high-paying jobs, since their president has devastated job opportunities for women. As for the notion that Ryan only likes the rich, his budget does substantially more for the middle class than Obama’s tax-raising budgets.

But that’s not the most amateurish part of this attack. The graphic ends with the following phrase: “Meet Paul Ryan, who is actually the worst.”

Well, like, gee. If they say he’s “the worst,” they must be right – he must be worse than Bashar Assad, Hamas, Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, and Al Qaeda put together.

When a campaign has to resort to stupidities like this, you know they’re in trouble. And the Obama campaign is resorting to stupidity as its backup plan more and more often.
