According to Maine State Police, Timothy Courtois, 49, was arrested yesterday for speeding. Upon his arrest, he informed police that he his car was chock full of press clippings from the Aurora, Colorado murderous attack, as well as firearms – and that he’d brought a loaded gun into a showing of The Dark Knight Rises. Sure enough, police found an AK-47, four handguns, and a solid stockpile of ammo. “We don’t know truly what his intentions were,” said Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Security around the country at movie theaters has become a major issue in the aftermath of James Holmes’ mass shooting. Clearly, these soft targets require new security measures.
