Legal Insurrection’s Anne Sorock recounts her experiences at the left wing “NetRoots Nation” convention in Providence, Rhode Island today:
I attended the Netroots Nation progressive convention this morning in Providence, Rhode Island. The session was titled “American Indian Caucus.”
When I asked the panel about Elizabeth Warren’s false claims to be Cherokee, they became defensive and accusatory, refused to condemn Warren or seek an apology even though genealogical information shows Warren is not Cherokee, and falsely accused me of being racist.
Here’s the video:
Panelist and Daily Kos staff writer Timothy Lange, the fellow with the eyepatch, says media members who question Elizabeth Warren’s false claims of Native American heritage are engaged in “racism” at about the 2:39 mark in the video:
I don’t talk to media who have trashed Indians over this particular issue, which is what’s been going on… because of the racism that’s come out over this.
Though Mr. Lange was a panelist in a session titled “American Indian Caucus,” it is unclear if he has ever claimed Native American heritage.
Shortly after Ms. Sorock shot this video, a Daily Kos blogger announced a plan to keep her from posing legitimate questions of Elizabeth Warren:
Being as how Warren’s going to be around, it behooves us to keep an eye out for her. I’d say it’d be a good idea to get between her and anything she’s trying to shoot video of, too. Stand in the way. Talk loudly about the weather so her sound gets mucked up.
And, please, people – don’t talk to her. Don’t give her anything she could manipulate or use in any way!!!
So much for that “new civility” from the left.
