Michael Moore on Scott Walker: 'Hate Cannot Sustain'

Michael Moore, the chubby angelic figure with the gentle demeanor and pacific attitude toward others, had an inspiring and idyllic response to Scott Walker’s triumph in the recall effort in Wisconsin. He tweeted: “Lose a battle here & there, but trust me we’ll win the war. History proves one thing: The good guys sooner or later win. Hate cannot sustain.”

Hate cannot sustain? From Moore? Hmm.

Moore, March 9, 2011, on Rachel Maddow’s show, after the Wisconsin State Senate voted to strip public unions of their right to collectively bargain:

“This is war. I would say that anyone who lives within driving distance of Madison, Wisconsin right now should make their way to the capital. This is war. This is class war that has been leveled against working class people in America.”

Holding up a pair of handcuffs, he continued, “The rich have committed these crimes and the people will demand your a** in jail.”

At the Democratic National Convention in 2004: 

They’re not patriots, they’re hate-triots, and they believe in the politics of hate-triotism. Hate-triotism is where they stand, and patriotism is where real Americans stand … I mean, they are up at six in the morning trying to figure out which minority group they’re going to screw today. The hate, they eat for breakfast. They are going to fight and they are going to smear, and they are going to lie, and they are going to hate.

Vintage Moore, 2004:

‘They are possibly the dumbest people on the planet … we Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance. We don’t know about anything that’s happening outside our country. Our stupidity is embarrassing. We, the United States of America, are culpable in committing so many acts of terror and bloodshed that we had better get a clue about the culture of violence in which we have been active participants. The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow — and they will win.’

Moore is probably right; hate cannot sustain. That’s why he needs that plate in front of him.
