In an interview with San Francisco Chronicle reporter Carla Marinucci, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says “without question” her proudest political accomplishment has been passing Obamacare.
“It’s a very big deal,” said Pelosi. “It’s transformative.”
In the interview Rep. Pelosi said she believes the unpopularity of Obamacare has been the result of poor salesmanship by its supporters.
“Clearly it hasn’t been sold,” said Pelosi. “When we went to the health care bill, we knew we were going againstmajor forces of special interests – the health care industry; theantigovernment ideologues.”
Rep. Pelosi also touted the prospects of a Hillary Clinton presidential run in 2016. “Why wouldn’t she run? She’s a magnificent secretary of state. She’s our shot.”
