Under fire from one wing of the Massachusetts Democrat Party and a new group of over 150 Cherokee Indians for her apparently false claim to Indian heritage, Elizabeth Warren’s incompetently executed rope-a-dope is now making her look like a political neophyte not yet ready for prime-time.
As to her past claims, the jury is in on Warren and the verdict isn’t good. Says the Boston Globe, “Elizabeth Warren’s Cherokee ancestry, almost certainly declared on federal forms by Warren herself and used by a pair of Ivy League universities to tout their diversity efforts, all without an ounce of proof that she has a drop of Indian blood flowing through her veins, matters. It matters a great deal.” That issue isn’t going away. According to another report, “A new group of over 150 Cherokees and growing has formed with the purpose of forcing Elizabeth Warren to give up her false claim to Cherokee heritage.” Now, that may not even represent the worst of Warren’s troubles.
The state’s Democratic Party chairman, John Walsh, now predicts attorney Marisa DeFranco, who is challenging Warren for the nomination, “will get the needed votes, setting up a primary contest that few Democrats expected and some hoped to avoid.” That’s significant, as it heightens an already significant split in the state Democrat Party that may have already weakened Warren in a head-on challenge of incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown. A growing number of Massachusetts Democrats are making it known they want Warren to prove herself capable of meeting a challenge, not just slamming doors in the faces of a swirling media.
Writes the Salem News, “…an organized effort to keep the Middleton attorney off the ballot would hardly enhance Warren’s credentials in what promises to be a bruising fight with Republican incumbent Scott Brown this fall.” According to the Lowell Sun, Warren is now widely viewed as the political establishment’s anointed one, as opposed to the people’s choice, for Massachusetts. “Some Democrats still remain a bit excluded from the party leaders’ gentle persuasion to give Warren the leg up.”
The Massachusetts Democrat Party’s split from Warren and second look at DeMarco is also evidenced by Warren’s reliance on out-of-state groups for her support, as previously reported by Breitbart News. “A report and chart at Masslive.com indicate that Elizabeth Warren is not running a Massachusetts-based campaign when it comes to fund raising. The bulk of her money seems to come from out-of-state…” Incumbent Republican Scott Brown’s support is far more state-based. Thus, the state-based Democrat Party is coming to the conclusion that DeFranco needs to be given a chance to test Warren prior to any general election, even if she ultimately doesn’t defeat her in the primary.
