Border Patrol Brian A. Terry loved his job. According to a website in honor of him, he wanted to be a Federal Agent since he was a little kid. After he served in the Marines and was a police officer, Brian wanted more and decided to apply for the Border Patrol. He was president of his graduating class and assigned to the NACO station in Bisbee, Arizona.

But even that wasn’t good enough for him. He strived to be part of the US Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), which is an elite force containing the nation’s best agents.

His life tragically ended on December 14, 2010 when he was gunned down. Guns found at the scene were linked to Operation Fast & Furious. Yet the government still won’t give him justice or his family any answers.

They did do something right. On Tuesday, President Obama signed the Brian A. Terry Memorial Act into law. This will rename the NACO station in Bisbee, AZ to the Brian A. Terry Border Patrol Station. It may not appear to be much, but it’s something, and it’s a great way to honor Brian, especially since he loved the job. It’s also a great way to make sure he is not forgotten, no matter how hard the media and government want us to.

While the government did pass this, they did it without any fanfare and buried it. Brian sacrificed everything to protect this country only to be murdered by someone using a gun supplied by his government. His family, especially his parents, should have been by President Obama’s side when he signed the law.

Rest in peace, Brian Terry. We will never forget you.
