Pennsylvania and Texas are finally investigating abortion clinics that allegedly have violations and that’s a healthy sign, but what is Louisiana waiting for? I’ve been told that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is a good man and there’s even been some talk that he should be persuaded to run for president, which is why he just released his birth certificate. On the other hand there has been some criticism that he delegates a lot of issues that deserve his personal attention. I don’t know if that’s true or not but when I learned about what’s happening in Louisiana’s abortion clinics and a possible cover up by the Delta Health department, I wondered why Gov. Jindal hasn’t ordered them shut down.
In February, Sen. David Vitter sent a letter to Gov. Bobby Jindal and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce Greenstein urging an investigation and immediate action against the abortion facility with connections with Kermit Gosnell.
Gosnell was arrested in Philadelphia and charged with one count of murder in the death of a woman in a botched abortion and seven counts of infanticide-seven infants born alive had their spinal cords snipped with scissors. His facility had a history of numerous health and safety violations which were ignored by authorities.
The Delta Clinic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has a close connection with Gosnell. Its owner Leroy T. Brinkley hired Gosnell to work one day a week at his clinic. Brinkley also sent patients to Gosnell after starting the abortion procedure in Delaware then driving them to Philadelphia to complete the procedure. Brinkley also had one of his clinic workers, Eileen White O’Neil, work for Gosnell in Philadelphia. She has also been charged with Gosnell for criminal violations that include deception for pretending to be a licensed physician, and for racketeering.
The Louisiana clinic also has a long history of numerous violations and complaints from both staff and patients who have suffered severe injuries due to botched abortions. I have seen the affidavits from these individuals that have been ignored by the Delta Health and Hospitals department.
In 1994, one Delta Women’s Clinic was prosecuted for dispensing illegal narcotics by Asst. Attorney General Tommy Watson. The clinic, unable to pay the resulting fines was sold at auction. It was purchased by the St. Mary and St. Joseph Memorial Foundation and turned into the National American Holocaust Memorial to commemorate the deaths of the unborn. The killing rooms are left intact and there are graphic images on the walls.
Richard Mahoney, a pro-life advocate and attorney Michael Johnson have been trying to get Brinkley’s clinics cited for gross violations and endangering women. He has been called by state Rep. John LaBruzzo to testify in front of the state legislature on the abortion abuses at Delta clinics. He has told me that: “This practice of falsifying legal documents to the DHH’s Office of Vital Records and the medical malpractice and fraud involved in sending forms to the DHH that were preprinted, with the pre-printed questions responses checked off and completed prior to seeing any patients, is tantamount to the largest travesty of justice ever perpetrated by the medical establishment under the guise of women’s reproductive health care. All this
with governmental complicity. In no other branch of medical practice, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, etc., would this be tolerated. The ramifications of these perjuries to the health of women in the United States is staggering!”
He said that the Governor needs to be contacted on the severity of crimes committed at Delta and Leroy T. Brinkley’s association with Dr. Gosnell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, so he can sign an emergency executive order that will precipitate immediate resolution to this statewide calamity.
Without Governor Jindal’s involvement it’s likely that the clinic will continue operating because abortion is a billion dollar industry and abortion advocates have tons of money to funnel to legislators. Consider the recent Democrat fundraising trip to Austin, Texas by President Obama where Cecile Richards, CEO of Planned Parenthood dines with him at the $30,000 a plate event. This is why the Democrats do not want to defund Planned Parenthood. They owe it big time.
The Washington Examiner reported that: “The abortion lobby spends about $40 million each election to help Democrats. EMILY’s List, dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women, operates a political action committee (which can directly fund candidates), a 527 committee (which can run only “issue ads”), and a so-called SuperPAC (which use media to support or oppose candidates).”
$30,000 a plate? How dedicated the abortion lobby must be to keep these clinics in business regardless of the evidence that women are being harmed by greedy criminals. The affidavits are there confirming the horror inflicted on the women (infections, adverse drug reactions, uterine perforations, bleeding, STD’s, loss of limbs, emergency hysterectomies, injuries and unreported deaths.)
Pro-life events struggle to fill an event with $300 tickets but that’s because most of us don’t have the money to bribe politicians. Those who fight for life do it because it’s the right thing to do.
Governor Jindal needs to take a break from his book tour and recognize that this is not just a battle for the unborn but a battle for women’s health and safety.
