Who is Ann Wagner?
Ann Wagner, former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, announced in a video message this month that she is running for Chairman of the RNC.
Ann Wagner is one of the most successful political professionals working in Republican politics today. Her career is rich in service to her community, state and nation.
Following nomination by President George W. Bush and confirmation by the U.S. Senate, Ann Wagner was sworn in as the 19th U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on August 1st, 2005, in Washington, D.C. She served as U.S. Ambassador for four years until July, 2009.
For her service as U.S. Ambassador, Ann Wagner received The Grand Cross, Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The highest Order awarded for professional achievements or meritorious services.
Most recently, Ann Wagner served as the Chairman of Roy Blunt’s successful U.S. Senate campaign in Missouri where she focused on campaign strategy, fundraising, message development and bringing old and new elements of the grassroots together for an historic victory. POLITICO named Blunt’s campaign one of the top 10 best campaigns in the nation in the 2010 election cycle.
Wagner is the Honorary Co-Chair of the American Freedom and Enterprise Foundation, a Missouri based non-profit organization promoting free market principles.
Ann Wagner has a proven track record…
Previously, Ann Wagner was Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee for two terms, a tenure marked by historic election victories. Her extensive travels in this role took her to 48 of the 50 states focusing on building strong state party organizations and coalitions.
Wagner, who has served the Republican Party at the local, state and national levels, also outlined a detailed agenda for the future of the RNC that she will be committed to if elected.
“As a former member of the Republican National Committee, I want to talk directly with you, the members of this Committee, about what we can do – and, I believe, must do – to fully change America’s direction in 2012, and to decisively bring conservative Republican leadership to the presidency, Congress and the states,” Wagner said in her video message to the committee members. “There is much we can and will accomplish together for the good of our nation. The RNC needs to be funded to its maximum obligations. We must be efficient, relevant, professional and credible.”
Ann Wagner’s detailed agenda for the future of the RNC includes more aggressive fundraising, better management, reinvigorated political operations and new communications initiatives.

Already Ann has picked up the support of Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney, a previously Steele-friendly member named to a leadership position by the RNC chief along with several other voting members. National conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly also supports Ann Wagner.
On a personal note…
Ann is wonderful Missouri patriot. She is just a delight to be around and is full of energy. I’ve met Ann on several occasions and she was always excited to hear how I was doing, excited to hear about the conservative media and the internet. I know that Ann is just who we need to lead the Republican Party at this critical point in our nation’s history. I am very proud to support her as the next leader of the RNC.
