LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) — Zendaya was recently honored with a limited edition Barbie doll in her likeness.

The 19-year-old singer and actress received the toy at the Barbie Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience Saturday in Los Angeles. The doll is modeled after the Vivienne Westwood gown and dreadlocks hairstyle Zendaya wore to the 2015 Academy Awards in February.

“We are so excited to honor @Zendaya with this one-of-a-kind doll as she encourages girls to Raise Their Voices and inspires us to #BeSuper,” Barbie wrote on Instagram.

“When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed,” Zendaya said. “Thank you @barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be a part of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty. Can’t wait to keep doing amazing things with you.”

Zendaya’s Oscars look made headlines after Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic joked the singer’s dreadlocks looked like they smelled of “patchouli oil or weed.” The controversial comment led Kelly Osbourne to quit the show despite Rancic’s subsequent apology.

Zendaya came to fame as Rocky Blue on Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up, and has starred as K.C. Cooper on K.C. Undercover since January. The actress also played Laura on season 2 of Fox musical drama Empire, and released her self-titled debut studio album in 2013.
