World champion Simone Biles ready for US nationals

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two-time defending world champion Simone Biles is ready for this weekend’s U.S. Gymnastics Championships.

The 18-year-old from Spring, Texas, is seeking to become the first American in nearly 25 years to win three straight national titles. Reigning Olympic all-around champion Gabby Douglas and three-time Olympic medalist Aly Raisman are also in the field in the final meet before the world championships in Scotland in October.

Biles hasn’t lost a meet in more than two years. Biles says she doesn’t think about the streak and usually doesn’t know she’s won until someone else tells her.
