Dec. 7 (UPI) — President Donald Trump traveled to Kansas City Friday to speak at the Project Safe Neighborhood National Conference.
The three-day event, which gathers hundreds of police officers and prosecutors, is sponsored by the Department of Justice.
Trump will speak at 12:30 p.m. EST.
Earlier this week, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein spoke at the annual event.
The program, started during the administration of President George W. Bush and revived by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is designed to reduce violent crime. Kansas City has seen 120 homicides this year.
U.S. District Attorney of Kansas Stephen McCallister speculated Trump will “talk about the problem of violent crime and his commitment and Department of Justice commitment to address those problems.”
