WASHINGTON, June 25 (UPI) —
The White House is recruiting Hollywood celebrities to help promote the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, an entertainment agent and adviser said.
"I think the White House is very wise to identify partners to help market the Affordable Care Act," Trevor Neilson, president of Global Philanthropy Group and representative of actress Eva Longoria, singer John Legend and others, said Tuesday.
Neilson is a veteran of the Clinton White House.
The Obama administration is working on ways to promote the healthcare law to the public, the Washington newspaper The Hill reported, noting celebrity spokesmen could help inform key demographics, such as young people, of their new benefits.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sibelius announced Monday she is in talks with the National Football League to promote Obamacare.
