WASHINGTON (AP) — Stevie Wonder is performing free pop-up concerts in Washington, Philadelphia and New York.
The D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development says Wonder performed a few songs at the D.C. Armory Mall on Monday. The first 1,000 people got doughnuts.
The concert is part of a news conference promoting Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life Performance” tour. Wonder and his 22-piece band will perform at the Verizon Center on Oct. 3.
Live Nation Vice President of Booking Ted Mankin tells WTOP-FM that Wonder will perform in Philadelphia and New York, too. Live Nation tweets that there is a free pop-up performance at Dilworth Park in Philadelphia at 3 p.m.
