Sept. 2 (UPI) — Beloved character Steve Urkel will return in a Cartoon Network holiday special.
Variety reported Wednesday that WarnerMedia Kids & Family greenlit the animated musical Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story as part of the network’s new family programming block ACME Night.
TV Line confirmed Jaleel White will voice his Family Matters character Steve Urkel in the new film. White played Urkel throughout Family Matters’ nine-season run from 1989 to 1998.
Did I Do That to the Holidays? follows the brilliant but accident-prone Steve Urkel after he ruins a local celebration by publicly humiliating a shopping mall Santa. He creates an invention in an attempt to make things right but only makes things worse.
“Using his big brain and even bigger heart, Steve must find the real Santa to see if together they can help the city rediscover the holiday spirit,” an official description reads.
Did I Do That to the Holidays? is written by Wyatt Cenac. In addition to starring, White will serve as a producer.
ACME Night will kick off Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. EDT. The programming block will include family-friendly movies on Sunday evenings, beginning with Shazam. Other new projects include Merry Little Batman and an untitled Looney Tunes Cartoons movie.
