Jan. 4 (UPI) — The pilot of a single-engine plane is dead after a Saturday-morning crash near the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita, Calif.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. and the plane was “engulfed in flames” after it landed.
The crash killed the plane’s only occupant and closed one lane of the freeway as emergency crews responded.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
