‘Schmigadoon!’ trailer: Cecily Strong, Keegan-Michael Key discover musical town

June 25 (UPI) — Apple TV+ is giving a glimpse of the new series Schmigadoon!

The streaming service shared a trailer for the musical comedy Friday featuring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key as Melissa and Josh, a couple in a struggling relationship.

The preview shows Melissa (Strong) and Josh (Key) discover a magical town where everyone lives in a musical. The couple learn they cannot leave until they find true love.

Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski and Ann Harada co-star.

Schmigadoon! is a play on the 1947 Broadway musical Brigadoon. The series is written and created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. Paul also wrote the show’s songs and will serve as showrunner.

Andrew Singer and Lorne Michaels executive produce, with Strong as a producer.

Schmigadoon! premieres July 16 on Apple TV+.

Strong is an actress and comedian who has starred on Saturday Night Live since 2012. Key co-created and starred with Jordan Peele on Key & Peele and most recently appeared in the film The Prom.
